Frequently Asked Questions

Film Processing

How do I place a film processing order?

To place a film processing order, you must first fill-out the “Film Processing Order Form” found on our Photo Lab page. Once you complete and submit the form, we will respond to you within 24 hours to review and verify your order(s) via email. This email will contain instructions on how to send us your film (if you choose to do so by post), an invoice, as well as payment information. Once we’ve received your film and payment, we will process your order as soon as possible. Please note that due to high volume, we take longer then usual to process your film, however, we always try to process it within the first 48 hours of receipt.

We will promptly send you an email once you film is processed. Also, if you opted to scan your negatives, this email will also contain a link so that you may access your digital files.

You have to options to send us/receive your exposed film and other media.

  1. If you’ve chosen to send/receive your media via post, you are responsible for shipping & handling costs using Correos or your national postal service.
  2. If you’ve choosen to use one our drop-off boxes located in Alcalá de Henares, we will pick up your film & other media within 24 hours of receipt of your confirmation email and notify you once it has been processed so you can pick it up at the same drop-off box.

Our goal is to provide a quick turnaround of all of our orders and we will generally have your film processed within 48 hours of receipt. However, please note that, at times, we may experience a higher volume then usual and it may take a bit more time, in which case we will always let you know of when to expect your processed film.

Once we’ve confirmed your order, you will see that we accept multiple types of online payments via PayPal, including credit and debit cards. Additionally, we also accept bank transfers or transfers (under 500 €) using Bizum.

While we take great care in processing and handling your analog film, problems may arise.

At Fotofilme Analogik, we guarantee that your film will be processed according to the manufacturer’s recommendations and will notify you if we detect that the film has been improperly exposed. In which case we will assist you in determining where the err has occurred.

Often, this may be due to a malfunctioning camera, camera’s light meter, or improper adjustment of the camera’s shutter speed, aperture, or ISO setting.

Please refer to our “Refunds & Returns Policy” for more information.

We accept all commercially available photographic and cinematographic films including 8mm, Super 8mm, 16mm/Super 16mm, 35mm, 110, 127, Minox, APS, 120, 4×5 (10×12) and 18×24 sheet films.

If you are unsure of the film format, please contact us for assistance.

At Fotofilme Analogik, we understand that your memories are priceless, and we will always accept any old, exposed film to see if it can be recovered at no initial cost. You will only be charged you if we are able to recover 50% of the film’s exposures (i.e. 18 images from a 36-exposure roll of 35mm film), at an adjusted price.

Exposed film degrades over time due to multiple factors, including the conditions (temperature, humidity, time) in which it was stored as well as other factors like Gamma radiation and/or exposure to X-Rays (for example, if it was scanned at the airport).

For example, we have developed B&W, 35mm film rolls that were over 40-years old, recovering about 80% of the film’s original latent images using a combination of photochemical and digital darkroom techniques.

If you have one or more rolls of old, exposed film, we highly recommend that you contact us so that we discuss when you think the film was exposed, how, and in what conditions, it was stored so that we may evaluate if and how that film may be recovered.
