About Us
At Fotofilme Analogik, our mission is to provide professional and accessible film lab and audiovisual production services throughout Spain and Europe. As a small, family-owned business, we are dedicated to inspiring and promoting the art of analog photography.
We believe that everyone should have the means and access to create their art, regardless of the audiovisual medium they choose. While we are strong advocates of analog media, we firmly believe that digital and analog can complement each other, enhancing your artistic vision.
About the Owner
Yulia Smishkewych Rey has over 25 years of experience in analog photography, cinematography, television, and corporate communications. She holds a B.A. in Communications from Kean University (Union, NJ, 2016), an Associates of Arts in Film Studies from Union County College (Cranford, NJ, 2014) and two diplomas from the New York Film Academy (New York, NY) in cinematography (2006) and digital filmmaking (2007), and has worked with reknowned photographers like Donald Lokuta, among others, as well as for production houses like Zeitun Films (Felipe Lage).
Yulia’s passion for analog photography began at the age of 12 when her older brother built a darkroom in their basement and introduced her to the fine art of photography. Since then, she has spent countless nights in darkrooms across the Atlantic, mastering the medium, recreating forgotten processes, and even developing new ones.
For Yulia, Fotofilme Analogik is the realization of a lifelong dream. It is a place where she can preserve the art of analog photography, ensuring its survival for future generations. She is committed to sharing her love for the medium and helping others discover the joy and creativity it brings.
